Project summary
The project activity aims to improve the production capacity competitiveness of PJSC “Dneprovsky Integrated Iron and Steel Works named after Dzershinsky” (DIISW) due to modernization of its main manufacturing equipment for steel smelting and rolling in the way of Ladle Furnaces implementation, where liquid steel will be treated out-of-furnace and Continuous Casting Machines (CCMs). It’ll give the possibility to provide the increased volume of liquid steel output and at the same time to reduce input of fuel and energy resources per unit of steel output.
Technical aspects of the project
Project activity includes the installation:
- two Ladle Furnaces (LDs – 1,2);
- two Continuous Casting Machines (CCMs - 1,2).
The project implementation improves the profitableness of PJSC “DIISW” due to carbon credits trading, in such a way providing revenues incomes for the sake of investments costs reversion. The project implementation has the considerable influence on the regional environmental situation and also assists to appearance of the new work places. The project is one of the largest ones at steel production scope in Ukraine for the last decades.

Emission reductions of СО2
As a result of project implementation the GHG emission reduction is achieved at such steel processes as domain and sinter ones due to the reduction of manufacture expenses, especially during steel teeming.
